In this presentation Tom discusses the relationship between concrete structural elements in high rise construction and the value they provide with reference to the Builder, Engineer and Architect working together in a design and construct project team. By examining opportunities for value adding in the concrete construction process, Tom shows how to optimize project outcomes in terms of the major value drivers – cost, speed, risk and Return on Investment (ROI). The value adding opportunities discussed are precast utilisation, formwork, high performance concrete, concrete finishes, creating flexibility and making informed decisions.
