Successful architecture is the result of many contributing factors, including a client-architect relationship of trust and understanding, an attitude of exploration and an interactive collaboration between the architectural teams, consultants and builder. Joseph Paonessa describes the process of design and collaboration that led to the success of the Sidney Myer Asia Centre, an award winning building in Melbourne. Joseph Paonessa was senior project coordinator on the Sidney Myer Asia Centre while working with Director Bob Nation of Nation Fender Katsalidis, Melbourne. By describing the program, design considerations and project interactions, Joseph is able to reveal the elements and attitude that are embodied in the creation of great architecture.

JOSEPH PAONESSA

 

Joseph is an experienced architectural project coordinator, who has been involved with several significant Australian buildings in recent years. He is currently with dKO Architecture as the Primary Project Coordinator on the Silverwater Resort, located near Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. He has also served in senior roles with HBO+EMTB, Cox Richardson/Crone Associates JV, ARM + Crone Nation and Crone Nation Architects.

Joseph was the Primary Project Coordinator for Nation Fender Katsalidis on the University of Melbourne Sidney Myer Asia Centre.

Prior to arriving in Australia, Joseph worked on a number of projects fo Robert AM Stern Architects in New York, Maya Lin in New York City and an art installation of the works of Frank Gehry at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta Georgia, USA.
