In this course Bernard provides a refreshing and persuasive argument about the implementation of sustainable design and identifies the issues that architects, planners and designers can and should address. He describes the current status of sustainable building and the relationship between the manufacturers, builders, designers and consumers. He provides information about the variety of tools available to achieve sustainable buildings, and identifies the key areas to be addressed by architects and designers in attaining a goal of low and zero environmental impact housing.

Bernard Hockings

Bernard Hockings is a Builder and Designer whose focus is the delivery of practical, effective and sustainable strategies in the built environment. He is Program Manager for the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors. Previously he was an environmental consultant for the Master Builder’s Association. Bernard was awarded the NSW Green Globe for contributions to sustainable building and providing training to the industry.
